Hello, dear creator! It's been a minute since I did this exchange and I'm very excited for it this year! All prompts are of course optional and if you already have an idea please feel free to ignore this letter. You can also glance through my exchange letter tag here on DW, though I do tend to recycle prompts.
DNW: No really graphic violence (canon-typical is fine). Canon-divergence AUs are fine, but nothing that takes it out of the canon world--no coffee shop AUs or whatever, in other words. Also no incest, and no smut.
The Lord of the Rings
Malbeth the Seer - I’d really like to know how she came to her position in Arvedui’s court, what it meant for her to be a seer, and perhaps her relationships with other women at the court—how did she get along with people? What were their perceptions of her?
Goldberry - Goldberry going about her normal business in the Withywindle would be lovely--and perhaps her influence extends down to the Brandywine, into Buckland?
Celebrian - I would very much like something happy! Pre abduction, perhaps, as Lady of Rivendell. She must have shaped the valley into what it became as much as Elrond did.
Arwen - Her relationship to mortality and her choice is fascinating to me. She chooses as Luthien did and seems to have done it with open eyes, but then finds the bitter part very hard to deal with. I’d love a character study of her or something. And her relationship with Lorien! It’s there that she goes at the end; because of or in spite of the fact that it’s abandoned?
Gilraen - I will read anything and everything about Gilraen--about her life in Rivendell, or about her life among the Dunedain either before Arathorn's death or after her return to them.
Ivorwen - Like Gilraen, I'd like anything at all about Ivorwen--another woman with strong foresight!
Eowyn - I would love to see Eowyn the healer and the gardener, building something beautiful in Ithilien as the Fourth Age begins.
Primula Brandybuck - Any expansion of Primula's character would be delightful! Her mother is also one of the Remarkable Daughters of the Old Took--so just how Tookish is Primula really?
Pearl Took - Pearl has a rather scandalous backstory with Lalia Took and all, but is there any truth to the suspicions?
Smith of Wootton Major
Nell Smith, Nan Smith - Either one of these ladies could use some proper characterization! I'm open to just about anything.
Faery Queen - I wonder if she ever leaves Faery, like Alf does? What does she do when or if she comes into the mortal world?
The Silmarillion
Elwing - I usually ask for Elwing making a life for herself in Valinor, but I think this time around I would like to ask for her in Sirion, growing into herself and role as ruler, working with the mishmash of people gathered there.
Emeldir - She leads her people out of Dorthonion during the Bragollach--how does that go? What happens on that journey? Does she live long enough to learn what happens to her son?
Nellas - What's her backstory? What does she do outside of her small role in Turin's story? What happens to her afterward? I like to think she escapes Doriath's fall, but where does she go? Down to Sirion with everyone else, or does she strike off south or east?
Galadriel - I'd like to see something about a young Galadriel in Valinor--before she's Galadriel. What's her relationship like with her various female relatives among the Noldor and the Vanyar? What shaped her into the ambitious princess willing to cross the Helcaraxe in search of a realm of her own?
Melian - She is the source of much wisdom imparted to the Sindar, and I would like to see how that plays out, what sort of things she teaches them and when, and what it looks like to have a Maia as a queen.
Luthien - Pre-Girdle Luthien would be fantastic! Does she travel throughout Beleriand? Does she ever see the Sea? What is it like to live there when there's (relative) peace under the stars?
Lalwen - I like to imagine Lalwen survives the First Age--so what does she do next? Sail home? Refuse like Galadriel did? Does she play a role in Gil-galad's court?
Indis - I would love an exploration of how Indis navigates her position as Queen of the Noldor, and as matriarch of her family in spite of the undercurrents of resentment from Feanor. I don't think it was always nearly as bad as it later became, but there had to have been tension.
Nerdanel - Give me Nerdanel the artist! Anything that explores her as a craftswoman in her own right.
Uinen - I would be fascinated to see something exploring Uinen's relationship with Numenor, since they often called on her for protection.
