starspray: Tom Bombadil coming down the path with lilies (Tom Bombadil)
[personal profile] starspray
Hello, dear author/artist, it's Innumerable Stars time again!

I'm very excited, and also pretty easy to please--aside from my DNWs, everything in this letter, including the worldbuilding tags, are just prompts and I won't be disappointed at all if you run with a wholly different idea, though I do ask that you avoid non-canon unrequested ships, please, at least as the main focus (nearly all of my requests are gen and even my shippy ones aren't that shippy).

DNW:  No really graphic violence (canon-typical is fine). Canon-divergence AUs are fine, but nothing that takes it out of the canon world--no coffee shop AUs or whatever, in other words. No smut, please, or incest, etc. I would also not like anything movie-verse, especially for The Hobbit. I also would not like to read fic in which Elros and/or Elrond outright hate their parents, or call Maglor "Father".

The Silmarillion #1

Worldbuilding: Culture at Alqualonde, Forgiveness & Redemption, The Gift of Men, The Halls of Mandos, War of Wrath, Post-Kinslaying Inter-Amanic relations, Gondolin, Exiles and People born in Middle-earth returning to life in the Undying Lands, Early Second Age

Characters:

Group: Olwë/Olwë's Wife & Elwing
Elwing
Group: Elwing & Uinen

Elwing in Valinor is one of my favorite things! I'd read anything from her relationship with her Telerin family to the Maiar she encounters there (making friends with Uinen especially, since she lives right there by the Sea), to reunions with loved ones post-Mandos. I'd also like to see her grappling with culture shock and maybe also with the way those around her speak about/remember the Noldor she knew as Exiles (and enemies, in the case of Feanor and his sons).

Eärendil
Group: Idril/Tuor & Eärendil

Baby Earendil in Gondolin! Or adult Earendil reuniting with his parents post-War of Wrath?

Elrond - I'd like to see something set in the early Second Age. What is he doing, what are his relationships like, what's it like in the (relatively) immediate aftermath of making his Choice?

Group: Elrond/Celebrian - I'd love anything from their meet-cute to how they run Rivendell together, to a joyful reunion in Valinor.

Group: Elendil & Elrond - IIRC Elendil has been to Middle-earth before he escapes the fall of Numenor. A young Elendil meeting Elrond would be really delightful.

Group: Elrond & Gil-galad - An exploration of how their relationship grows and changes over the years would be very interesting.

Elros
Elros' Wife
Group: Elros/Elros' Wife

Early Numenor would be wonderful, as would literally anything about Elros' wife--who was she, how did they meet, what were her contributions to the building of Numenor aside from marrying its first king?

Group: Elrond & Elros - Peredhil bros! Anything from the time between the end of the War of Wrath and the Edain leaving for Numenor would be lovely, or Elrond visiting Elros in Numenor.

Group: Maglor & Elrond & Elros
Group: Maedhros & Maglor & Elrond & Elros

Maglor & Maedhros & young Elrond & Elros are a delightfully complicated bunch of characters. I know headcanons vary as to how long Elrond and Elros actually stay with the Feanorians, though we know Elrond at least is present to witness the fall of Angband. I think I'd like something set when the twins are a little older and maybe preparing to leave to join the armies marching north to the War of Wrath?

Group: Eluréd & Elurín - I am very attached to the idea of Elured and Elurin surviving the second kinslaying. But I would also be interested in reading about them post-reembodiment in Valinor--especially if they're reembodied as young children.

Group: Celegorm & Eluréd & Elurín - A meeting between Celegorm and the twins sounds extremely fraught and I am here for it, whether it takes place in Mandos or outside of it after Celegorm or all three of them return to life.

Group: Dior/Nimloth
Dior
Nimloth of Doriath

Dior's youth and his meeting with Nimloth in Ossiriand would be delightful. As would anything that fleshes out Nimloth herself, outside of Dior and their relationship.
.

The Silmarillion #2

Worldbuilding: Finduilas is Gilgalad, Lindarin Culture, Valinor during the Darkening, Cuivienen, Elves through History

Characters:

Group: Eärwen & Anairë
Group: Nerdanel & Eärwen & Anairë & Findis & Lalwen

The Finwean ladies all have lives outside of their brothers'/husbands' feuds and I'd really like to see them get explored.

Nerdanel - Nerdanel is an exceptionally skilled artist in her own right and I'd love to see something about that.

Group: Eärwen & Galadriel - A reunion post-LotR would be really delightful. Galadriel changes a LOT from her youth in Valinor to who we see in Lothlorien and it would be really interesting to see that change from Earwen's POV.

Emeldir - I would love to know what happened to her after she got her people out of Dorthonion--did she make it all the way to Brethil? Did she stay there, or move on to Dor-Lomin?

Group: Beren/Lúthien - A post-adventure slice of life on Tol Galen would be really delightful.

Maglor - Maglor In History! Any time, anywhere, meeting historical figures, etc. Also maybe touching base with other Elves who choose to remain in Middle-earth through the Ages?

Group: Fëanor & Maglor - I don't really have any ideas for this one I just saw the tag and though, oh that's not a relationship I see discussed very often.

Group: Elves of Cuiviénen - Cuivienen worldbuilding! What ever happened to the Avari who never went West at all?

Group: Original Green Elves of Ossiriand - The little info we get on them, in the form of a brief description of their life before they crossed the Ered Luin following Denethor, is extremely tantalizing and I'd love to see it delved into!

Group: Olwë & Finwë - Olwe must have been the one to tell Finwe that Elwe never turned up. I'd like to see that scene, or whatever comes after.

Ingwion - Like all the other characters who are just a name in canon I'd really love to see him fleshed out.

Gil-galad (Silm) - Finduilas-as-Gil-galad would be excellent, but I am also open to regular Gil-galad being badass and also the most successful High King of the Noldor in Middle-earth.

Group: Finduilas/Gwindor (Silm) - A post-Mandos reunion would be excellent. As noted above, I am extremely fond of the Finduilas-as-Gil-galad AU, which would add another great layer to this.

Daeron (Silm) - Like Maglor-in-History, Daeron-in-History would also be excellent.

Crossovers

Worldbuilding: Elves in History, Water Magic, Languages, Inns & Pubs & Taverns, History & Memory, Fragments of Ancient Worlds

Characters

Group: Maglor (Silm) & Elrond (LOTR books)
Group: Maglor (Silm) & Tom Bombadil (LOTR Books)
Group: Maglor (Silm) & Goldberry (LOTR books)
Group: Bilbo Baggins (LOTR books) & Maglor (Silm)
Group: Maglor (Silm) & Elladan (LotR books) & Elrohir (LotR books)
Group: Maglor (Silm) & Arwen (LOTR books)
Group: Maglor (Silm) & Elladan (LotR books) & Elrohir (LotR books) & Arwen (LotR books)
Group: Maglor (Silm) & Roverandom
Group: Maglor (Silm) & J. R. R. Tolkien (Tolkien 2019)

I have no specific prompts for any of these, aside from the worldbuilding tags, I'd love to see basically anything involving Maglor running into or meeting/reuniting with these characters!
.

Roverandom

Worldbuilding: Roverandom's further adventures

Characters:

Group: Roverandom & Uin; Roverandom - the worldbuilding tag pretty much covers it what I'd like to see for either of these. I'd be extra delighted with an appearance by Little Boy Two, or the other Rovers!

Psathamos - a slice of wizardly life would be delightful.

.

The Hobbit

Worldbuilding: Rebuilding Dale, Hobbit lads and lasses going off into the Blue for mad adventures, Hobbit cookery, The Toy-Market of Dale, The History and Construction of Lake-town, trade in Rhovanion/Wilderland and the Misty Mountains, Skinchangers

Characters:

Group: The Elvenking & his children - this tag suggests that Legolas has siblings, and I very much want to know all about them--plus their mother! Mirkwood royal family dynamics! We know what Thranduil was up to during The Hobbit, but what about everyone else? Did anyone get involved in what went down at Dol Guldur?

Beorn; Group: Beorn & his animals - Any sort of Beorn origin story would be neat!

Belladonna Took - the Famous Belladonna Took--any one of her adventures pre-marriage would be amazing, especially if it includes her sisters.

Gandalf - Gandalf's influencing young hobbits to go off into the Blue would be great, whether it happens on purpose like Bilbo or if hanging out with Gandalf just Does That.

Bilbo Baggins - Any sort of slice of life of Bilbo reinserting himself into the Shire post-adventure would be delightful.

Bard the Bowman
Original Character from Dale
Original Character from Lake-town

For these tags, the worldbuilding tags for Dale and Lake-town and Wilderland pretty much cover what I'd like--in particular the rebuilding of Dale.

.

The Lord of the Rings

Worldbuilding: Songs and song magic, Flora and Fauna, Fallohides in early Third Age Greenwood, Post-War Minas Tirith, Post-Ring War Elven Realms, Dol Amroth, The Old Forest, Valinor in the Fourth Age

Characters:

Group: Gilraen & Elrond - I'd love anything of their friendship from any point in Gilraen's life, from her first coming to Rivendell to the two of them raising Aragorn together (how much tension is there regarding the secrecy about Arathorn etc that Elrond insists upon?) to after she's left.

Gilraen
Group: Gilraen & Ivorwen

I'd really like to see Gilraen fleshed out as a young woman, before Arathorn's death, maybe before her marriage, certainly before she has to leave her family to go live in hiding in Rivendell. Her relationship with her mother would be especially interesting to explore, not least because Ivorwen canonically has the gift of foresight, and that's always something I'm interested in seeing explored.

Aragorn - I would like to see anything regarding his various journeys and adventures pre-canon. The rebuilding of Annuminas/Arnor would also be great!

Group: Aragorn & Frodo Baggins - There's a great big gap to fill between the Fields of Cormallen and Arwen's arrival, and then another gap between the wedding and the party's departure from Minas Tirith. Filling them in would be lovely!

Frodo Baggins - Frodo in Valinor! Going to Lorien, perhaps, or visiting Tirion or Valmar or pretty much anywhere--and meeting any of the great heroes of previous Ages who are just as excited to meet him as he is to meet them.

Radagast - What does Radagast get up to during the Ring War? IIRC it's said somewhere that Gandalf is the only one who actually stuck to the Plan as a wizard, but I don't like that idea and I would like to believe that Radagast was helping in different ways; the war was fought on many different fronts, after all.

Group: Elrond & Arwen & Elladan & Elrohir - There are so many gaps to fill with Peredhil family dynamics. Anything set at any time would be great.

Elrond - Elrond as Ringbearer would be very cool to explore.

Lothíriel - Fleshing out Lothiriel would be an excellent opportunity also for Dol Amroth worldbuilding!

Group: Goldberry/Lady of the Blue Brooch - Who was the lady, and how did she meet Goldberry? What was their relationship like, and what happened to the Lady?

Original Stoor Character
Original Harfoot Character
Original Fallohide Character
Group: Original Entwife & Original Hobbit

Hobbitish origins are fascinating and I'd love anything fro the time they spent around the Anduin, or their journeys westward. Maybe it was an Entwife who first taught them farming? Who knows!
