I'm so excited to see what you create for me! Aside from my DNWs I'm pretty easy to please, and all of the prompts in this letter are entirely optional, and if you have an idea for whatever we've matched on, please feel free to run with it!
DNW: No really graphic violence (canon-typical is fine). Canon-divergence AUs are fine, but nothing that takes it out of the canon world--no coffee shop AUs or whatever, in other words. No smut, please, or incest, etc. I would also not like anything movie-verse, especially for The Hobbit.
The Silmarillion
Elwing (Silm) - Elwing in Valinor is one of my favorite things! I'd read anything from her relationship with her Telerin family to the Maiar she encounters there, to reunions with loved ones post-Mandos. I'd also like to see her grappling with culture shock and maybe also with the way those around her speak about/remember the Noldor she knew as Exiles (and enemies, in the case of Feanor and his sons).
Eluréd (Silm)
Elurín (Silm)
I am very partial to the idea that Elured and Elurin somehow escaped from Doriath with their lives. But I would also be interested in something exploring their reembodiment (as children!) in Valinor after Mandos.
Elemmírë (Silm) - We know absolutely nothing about Elemmire aside from a name and a famous work. Like lots of people, I headcanon her as a woman, and I'd love literally anything that fleshes her out into a person.
Tuor (Silm) - He spends several years by himself in Dor-lomin as an outlaw and I'd really like to see that time explored.
Lúthien Tinúviel (Silm) - Doriath wasn't always Girdled and I love the idea that Luthien travels widely throughout Beleriand during the Ages of the Stars--which is a great opportunity for worldbuilding for the Falas, or Ossiriand, or Mithrim, etc.
Rían of the House of Bëor (Silm) - I would love to see something that explores her as a singer/songwriter, and maybe some of those songs survive and are passed down to the Edain of Numenor (and beyond?).
Nellas (Silm) - What happens to Nellas after Doriath is sacked? She almost certainly is not in Menegroth when it all goes down, so what does she witness, and where does she go afterward?
Emeldir (Silm) - I would love to know what happened to her after she got her people out of Dorthonion--did she make it all the way to Brethil? Did she stay there, or move on to Dor-Lomin?
Finduilas Faelivrin (Silm) - I'd love an exploration of her youth in Beleriand and her relationship with other members of her family outside of Nargothrond, in particular the other (very few) Finwean women.
Findis (Silm) - Anything post-Darkening would be great--her role in governing the Noldor after her siblings head off, or what she does after Finarfin comes back...
Mablung of Doriath (Silm)
Beleg (Silm)
Melian (Silm)
Worldbuilding for Doriath would be wonderful--before the Girdle was put in place or after.
Celebrimbor (Silm) - I'd love a gapfiller set somewhere between the fall of Nargothrond and when he heads off to build Eregion. A big gap, I know, but a lot happens and I'd love to know what Celebrimbor was doing!
Ereinion Gil-galad (Silm) - He was very young by elven standards when he became king, and I'd like to see that explored. I don't have particularly strong feelings about his parentage so whichever way your headcanon goes is fine--but whoever his mother is, I'd be interested in their relationship.
.
The Lord of the Rings
Aragorn and Arwen's Daughter(s) (LOTR - Tolkien) - they don't even get names, or a number! Who are they, what are their roles in Gondor/Arnor? What are their relationships like--with Eldarion, their parents, each other?
Gilraen (LotR - Tolkien) - I'd really like to see Gilraen fleshed out as a young woman, before Arathorn's death, maybe before her marriage, certainly before she has to leave her family to go live in hiding in Rivendell.
Elanor Gardner (LOTR - Tolkien) - I'd love something from her time as one of Arwen's handmaidens, what she learns there and the relationship she forms.
Ivorwen (LotR - Tolkien) - She canonically has the gift of foresight, and that's always something I'm interested in seeing explored.
Frodo Baggins (LotR - Tolkien) - Frodo in Valinor! Going to Lorien, perhaps, or visiting Tirion or Valmar or pretty much anywhere--and meeting any of the great heroes of previous Ages who are just as excited to meet him as he is to meet them.
Samwise Gamgee (LotR - Tolkien)
Merry Brandybuck (LOTR - Tolkien)
Pippin Took (LOTR - Tolkien)
Sam, Merry, and Pippin all end up being really important figures in the Shire--so anything post-canon would be delightful--in the Shire or going to visit Rohan or Gondor or Arnor.
Aragorn (LotR - Tolkien) - I would like to see anything regarding his various journeys and adventures pre-canon. The rebuilding of Annuminas/Arnor would also be great!
Arwen (LotR - Tolkien) - Arwen lives a very long time before she ever meets Aragorn, and I'd love to see some of those gaps filled.
Elrond (LotR - Tolkien) - Elrond as Ringbearer would be very cool to explore.
Celebrían (LOTR - Tolkien) - Her youth would be delightful to explore, as well as her experiences in Valinor--her recovery, or what she does afterward? She has plenty of relatives to get to know.
Pearl Took (LOTR - Tolkien) - We know the Tooks hold out against Sharkey and his Big Men before help arrives, and I'd really love to get a look at what part Pearl (and her sisters!) play in that.
Rose Cotton (LotR - Tolkien) - Like Pearl, I'd like to know what Rosie does during the occupation of the Shire. She can't act as openly as the Tooks can, but surely she's involved in some low key resistance?
Goldberry (LOTR - Tolkien) - What does it mean that she is the River Daughter? What does she do with her days while Tom's off leaping over hilltops and singing at badgers and barrow wights? Does she ever rescue unwary travelers?
.The Hobbit
Belladonna Took (Hobbit book) - I would love love love to read about one of her adventures! Bonus points for including her sisters and/or brothers, and for shocking the more respectable citizens of the Shire.
Bilbo Baggins (Hobbit book) - I'd like some slice of life for him settling back into the Shire as Hobbiton's resident adventurous eccentric, hosting dwarves and scandalizing his neighbors.
Gandalf (Hobbit book) - Gandalf has convinced more than just Bilbo to run off into the Blue to have adventures, in his time--knowing more about that would be delightful. Or, filling in the gaps in the White Council's attack on Dol Guldur would be interesting.
Dís (Hobbit book) - I'd love literally anything that fleshes her out as more than a name in the Durin family tree!
Beorn (Hobbit book) - Beorn backstory? Seeing him become a leader of the Woodmen after the Battle of Five Armies would also be interesting, as they go from scattered settlements to becoming the more united group of Beornings.
Bard (Hobbit book) - I'd really love to see the rebuilding of Dale! Bonus points if his wife is alive and well and involved.
