Reading Wednesday
Apr. 21st, 2021 03:29 pmI have aspired to do Reading Wednesday posts on the regular for approximately ever, but have yet to manage it. But I've just remembered that today is in fact Wednesday and I have the tag already so let's do this.
Book Just Finished: Winter's Orbit, by Everina Maxwell. Sci fi romance in space, featuring an arranged marriage and a murder and a galactic treaty on the line. It was first on AO3 as A Course of Honor, and I read it then and very much enjoyed it, and now that I've read the Actual Published Version I love it even more. The worldbuilding is super interesting and Kiem and Jainan are great.
Currently Reading: I have Washington: A Life by Ron Chernow on audiobook that I am making my way through when I remember, and I started a reread of LOTR right before like a zillion library holds came in at once.
Next up: I have several from the library to choose from; probably going to start The True Queen by Zen Cho tonight; it's the sequel to Sorcerer to the Crown, which I finished a couple weeks ago and very much enjoyed--early 19th century England but with magic and familiars and things.
