Reading Wednesday
May. 19th, 2021 02:55 pmI just finished A Lady's Guide to Mischief and Murder by Dianne Freeman. It's the third book in the Countess of Harleigh series and I'm really enjoying it. Features a country house and a wedding party and mysterious "accidents" befalling guests and staff alike. These books inexplicably switch between past and present tense and it jars me every time but other than that they're just lots of fun. And this time I managed to figure out the answer to the mystery at precisely the same time Frances did.
Am also still working my way through the audiobook of Rob Chernow's Washington: A Life, though I kept zoning out/dozing off while suffering from vaccine side effects on Sunday, which made keeping track of Washington's swiftly-growing list of aides-de-camp in the run-up to the start of the war rather hard to follow. But that's on my immune system, not Chernow.
