Had a vague thought a few weeks ago of "huh I wonder if I could embroider something for TRSB" that I did not really expect to go anywhere.

Except then I had an idea. And then I blinked and here I am with the pattern drawn out on the fabric and the stitching begun and everything. So. Gonna do an art for TRSB this year!

Related to the above: chain stitch as a fill stitch is incredible and I love it so much. Like, satin stitch or long and short are great and all but chain stitch has texture.

I would never have thought of chain as a filler, but then I realised that a lot of ethnic embroidery uses it. I'm a long-and-short stitch filler myself. It's very forgiving. ;)

I like long and short for the same reason, lol! But chain has a very cool look to it.
